Chipmeup Custom Event

So ive been playing a bit of PLO with mixed results, started off good but
i think i ran good, then ran bad. Now i feel i at least know wat I am kind
of doing, and am back on track! (hopefully)

Created a custom event on chipmeup, for a PLO cash game session of
25/50 cap (200 hands or -$5k whichever comes first). Definately
there is some potential in ChipMeUp for cash game sessions, so hopefully
this first round goes ok!

The edge in PLO sometimes seems so small, from the stats i have kept
so far, I get it in 5% better than my opponents thus far, hardly seems
much at all.
USA

So im in san francisco at the moment, not doing a great deal. Playing
a bit of poker, walking up and down the steep hills watching the
trolley cars go by, unsure where they are heading off too. Watched
a free tibet demonstration / rally the other day. The tibetan national
anthem doesnt sound so good, was it written by 5 year olds, perhaps
it was the way that it was sung.

I dont think the importance of a professional sounding national anthem
can be overstated. Australia's is pretty bad, Advance australia fair , yuck.
Best 3 anthems France, UK and USA, oh and Borat singing the
Khazakstan anthem to the tune of the US anthem.

The olympics are over , sigh, but remember this classic ad ?!

Quake relief !

Pokerstars are offering an easy way to donate money to the China Quake
relief fund. 3 good reasons to do so

1. The damage caused by the chinese earthquake has already killed
thousands of ppl, and ppl there need all the help they can, not to mention
the pandas !

2. Making payments have never been so easy , just do an online transfer !

3. Pokerstars match ur donation $ for $ so ur actually donating twice as much.!!

WSOP Event #3 - $1500

Had a table with a few well known players on there, seemed
to be a bit impatient to start off with, down from 3k to 1500.
Then started playing better picking good spots, got up to 2500.

On the break one of the players said y i didnt want to play
full stack against him online at 25-50NL, i said coz its
easier and u dont have to concentrate so much.

Back from break pick up AA raise early pos, bb re-raises pot,
he has to call when i push and he has 4s, up to 5k

Win some ok pots up to 7500.

Then perhaps i mess this up but i got check raised on turn
jd-4-3d-6d all in, didnt think he had a flush, i had 3s , and
i called his flop bet. He had 6s , damn. Down to 500 chips
2s lost to ak , none from one. At least i got off to an ok start
but sometimes theres nothing u can do.

Tomorrow is the $1k rebuy
LAPT - Costa Rica
So i ended coming 34th (out of almost 400) money 32nd , so rigged ! It
was disapointing coz i sucked out twice with QQ v KK on day 1, the 2nd
time for my tournament life, did lose some other races, but certainly
luck was on my side. Ended up on 60k from a starting stack of 10k so
well placed. Luck continued on key races in day 2 and was up to about
100k playing pretty well. Then it all went pear shaped in the space
of an hour. Lost a pot with 9s v BB who bluffed me with AQ, i played
that hand badly. Then had a4 on k428 board i bet flop and he apparenly
floated the flop with a10 and pushed me off on the turn.

On the bubble q9 made a flush against my 8s and that was it. Oh well ,
few lessons learnt.

On a side note some of the girls in costa rica are so hot, I would have
to fold hands so not to break my gaze.

Got 5 or so days to travel around costa rica..

FTOPS

so i cashed in quite a few of the FTOPS events, and made it to the last
2 tables of the big one, $2500 buyin , $500K for first. Unfortunately
everything i tried backfired on day 2 tho i won a few races, until my
8s lost to KQ. Thought i played well, but still really disapointing, then
made a ridiculous play in the FTOPs main event, and went to bed.
Apparently im in the top 20 FTOPS players, doesnt seem right, i dont
event know if ive made a final table.

off to costa rica to play the LAPT...

A picture tells a thousand words so heres about 8,000 words.

Some curry in japan, didnt understand anything on the menu, looks like
tripe? taste good tho

The "kill bill" restaurant in roppongi, Gonnapcachi. Pretty cool , looks like
ur stepping into the kill bill set, and food was awesome

Hiroshima, the a-bomb building, pretty much the only remains of any buliding
left after the bomb..Went to the museum very sad , lots of stories about
kids trying to make it home after being burnt / exposed to radioactive
poisoning.

Golden temple in kyoto, tried to throw a coin in for good luck into these
money pits they have missed repeatedly...

Tokyo tower, 60 floors up

Japanese crepes, "banana chocolate banana" when translating to english
the japanese like repeating the words, i could make a fortune correctly
translation from japanese to english, if only i understood japanese.

Kobe beef in Kobe , unbelieveable ! U want the best steak, well this is
prolly the best ive had!
FTOPS update

So ive been playing some of the FTOPS events whilst traveling
around Japan. So far pretty pitiful, until yesterday the turbo
crapshoot, i got lucky to win 10s v As and 7-8 on 7-7-3-3 board!
River 10 of course. Then did well till about 40 players left.
Guy limped in sb, i have j10 and push he has As woops. Damn
27th spot...

Today is the $300R which i did well in last year, lets see wat
happens. Also boondy and grunter both came in the top5 of the
FTOPS heads up event, pretty amazing effort !

Konichawa bitches

Landed into tokyo, a couple of days ago. Ive been wanting
to go to tokyo/Japan for a long time now. Mainly for the
food , gadgets and ridiculous tv shows !

Go to the toilet in the airport, its already light years
ahead of us. There is a usb plug in the side of the wall
in case you need to charge something ?? the toilets in
the hotel room, the seat is heated, there is a side
electronic panel for bidday washing. Compared to india
where they are still on squat toilets, this is mind
boggling. They used to measure periods in history by the
metals they were using, eg. bronze age etc. but really
they should be using toilets, india are in the squat period
and japan are in the usb period. So by 2500 India should catch up.

Japanese toilet interface

People said japan was expensive, but when i was told a taxi
from the airport would cost $200 I understood wat the fuss
was about. Ended up taking a train and a taxi, in all fairness
the airport is at least 90mins away from tokyo proper.

Went into a late night underground yakitori bar, I was the only
foreigner there, a gaijin. Apparently the japanese classify ppl
as japanese and and gaijins. Sitting there eating some tasty
japanese rice, dumplings and drinking some local beer, I could
observe the japanese in their own environment. Despite it being
11pm it was clear that a lot of people had just knocked of work
judging by their suitsy attire. Everyone was uber polite, the
only glitch was asking for the "bill" which he misunderstood
as biru / beer and i ended up drinking another pint. "check"
was the better option. Wondered back to the hotel in roppongi,
which is a pretty happening part of town.

Travelng panda

So ala amelie with the gnome i decided to do a series
of photos with my stuffed panda in front of various places..

Vegas update

So i spent the last week in vegas not doing a great
deal. Played some online poker tournaments, highlight
was winning the $200R, especially sweet coz all
the tournaments that day went badly, and the $200R
was the last of the batch.

Was staying at a friend place outside of the strip !
It many weeks staying in vegas I had barely left
the strip. Discovered some good restaurants, Japanese
one, the Yardhouse a place which serves the most beers
on tap in the world!

some shisha

Went out into the strip a few times, including the spearmint
rhino, the strip club franchise that has made it to melbourne.
Quality of girls pretty to very good, quality of dancing poor,
and somehow they knew i only had $4 in my wallet coz they
didnt seem to bother me, or they didnt think i was "desperate".
American strip clubs they give the lap dances in front of you and
they keep their bottoms on, alcohol cant be served at a place
else your required to keep your pants on !

Other good restaurants - jasmine at bellagio(peking duck
was specatular), hyakumi at ceasars

Also went and saw the lions at mgm, which is prolly one of the
best things in vegas, especially when they are active,
also there are people in the enclosure just playing with the
lions, and the guys sits there just texting on his phone while
a male lion just sits 1m away playing !

Whilst wondering around mgm, we saw david copperfield was performing
his last show that night, so went to that. I always
thought he was amazing when i was kid growing up, and it was
really entertaning, funny, good tricks, plus we had quite
a few beers before hand. He pulled a car out of nowhere, tho
its all mirrors i guess ??

Sitting at the airport now, playing some NL cash, off to tokyo
soon!
